Sculpting the Fairy Child
All Levels
Class cost: $65.00

see below for more photos

In this class students will learn to sculpt a fairy child from start to finish.

Children have much different anatomy than that of adults. It takes a whole different knowledge of anatomy to make a realistic child figure.

Students will get a basic knowledge of the anatomy of a child’s head and body and will be able to use that knowledge to make a 7” figure sculpted from polymer clay.

The class will go through all the steps from the basics of sculpting and finishing techniques, to painting, costuming, wigging and fairy wings!   A detailed workbook with pictures and sculpting aids are provided as well a supply list and supply shopping sources. There will be an online forum available for further instruction and hands-on help from the instructor.  I hope to see you in class!

 About Kori

I have always been drawn to figurative and illustrative art.  As a child I liked to draw, mostly people and animals.  In high school, and later in college I studied art.  Back then, my mediums were pretty limited.  I studied water-color, oils, acrylics...always two dimensional.

In high school I learned to draw people by imitating the works of Brian Froud and others...I have always loved the world of fantasy!

In 1997, I discovered the book “Fantastic Figures” by Suzanna Oroyan...and my two dimensional world turned into three, as I discovered Polymer Clay!

I have been sculpting original polymer sculptures since that time and love the medium.  Polymer clay allows me to use all of my skills as an artist.

My work features primarily children and children’s subjects…such as fairy tales and folklore.  I have taught many classes on classical sculpting and OOAK dolls.  My sculptures have been featured in Contemporary Doll Collector Magazine and Doll Crafter and Costuming magazine and countless galleries and boutiques worldwide.

I am a member of PDMAG (the Professional Doll Maker’s Art Guild) and I live in North Dakota with my husband and two beautiful children.  You may see more of my work on my website www.turtlechild.com
